SEC Schools Lose Out on Running Back

Ezekiel Elliott has committed to the Ohio State University. Elliott is a 4-star running back and ranked as the 9th best RB. Elliott had offers from these SEC schools: Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. He also had interest from Alabama.

SEC Recruits Battle For NHSI title

     #2 ranked Findlay Prep cameback to beat #12 Montverde for the NHSI  title. Findlay Prep has Anthony Bennett, a Kentucky and Florida recruit, and Amedeo Della Valle, a Texas A&M recruit. Montverde has Kasey Hill, a Florida commit. Bennett finished with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Hill had 23 points and 6 assists.

Bryant Jr. Commits to Oklahoma

     Greg Bryant Jr. has committed to play football at the Oklahoma. Bryant Jr. had interest in several SEC schools. He was interested in Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia. He held offers from all of them. Bryant Jr. was also considering Connecticut, Florida State, Marshall, Miami(FL), Minnesota,  Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, South Florida, USC, Wake Forest, and West Virginia. Only 3 of those schools had not offered; Florida State, Miami (FL), and Oregon. Bryant Jr. is ranked as the 8th best running back and the 59th best player overall.

South Carolina Loses Out On Point Guard

     South Carolina target Ian Baker has committed to Providence. Ian Baker is a 3-star recruit and is not ranked by Scout.com. Baker was also considering Boston College, East Carolina, and Seton Hall. South Carolina and Providence were the only schools that had offered. Baker is from Jacksonville, Florida*.

*ESPN states that Baker is from Washington, D.C but rivals.com states that he is from Jacksonville.

SEC Schools lose Prospect

     Ben Boulware, a middle linebacker from Anderson, South Carolina, has committed to play at clemson. Boulware is considered to be the 16th ranked middle linebacker. Boulware held SEC offers from Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt. South Carolina had interest but had not offered. Boulware plays at TL Hanna high school, known for Radio.

Mississippi State Departure

     Junior Forward Arnett Moultrie will not return to Mississippi State next. Moultrie has chosen to enter the NBA draft and sign with an agent. Moultrie averaged 15.8 PPG to go along with 10.6 RPG. Moultrie had a SEC-best 18 double doubles this season. DraftExpress.com ranks Moultrie as the 28th best NBA prospect.

McDonald's All American Preveiw

     The McDonald's All-American game showcases the best boys and girls high school talent in the country. The SEC is represented in the game this year. Here is a look at SEC recruits in the game this year. 

      There are boys prospects that are signed to an SEC school. Archie Goodwin and Alex Poythress are both committed to play for the University of Kentucky in the fall. Goodwin came in 2nd at the dunk contest on Monday. It has been rumored that an NBA scout was taking notes on Poythress in practice because of his athleticism. Goodwin is a top-15 prospect and is ranked as the 5th shooting guard prospect. Poythress is ranked as the 16th overall player and 3rd at the small forward position.

      Many undecided players in the McDonald's All-American game are considering SEC schools. Miller Grove power forward, Tony Parker, is considering Kentucky and Georgia. Parker is ranked as the 21st overall and 7th at the power forward position. Parker has been called lazy due to his effort in practices this week. 

      Another undecided player is Findlay Prep power forward Anthony Bennett. Bennett is considering 2 SEC schools, Florida and Kentucky. Bennett is also considering Oregon, Washington, and UNLV. Bennett is considered to be a top-10 prospect and is the top ranked power forward.

     Shabazz Muhammad was considered the top overall prospect until Nerlens Noel re-classified. After great practice performances Muhammad may reclaim the top spot in the class of 2012 rankings. Muhammad won the dunk contest on Monday night. Muhammad is only considering one SEC school,Kentucky. Muhammad is also considering UCLA, USC, Duke, Kansas, and UNLV. Muhammad is set to commit between April 11th and April 13th.

     Undeclared small forward Devanta Pollard is considering several SEC. Pollard, a Mississippi native, lists 4  SEC schools, Kentucky, Missouri, Alabama, and Mississippi State. Pollard is ranked 32nd overall and the 8th best small forward. Pollard is also considering Georgetown and Texas. Pollard was called a lock for Mississippi State if Mississippi native Kenny Payne took the head job.

     There are several players the may be playing in the SEC next year in the game tonight. The game is at 9:30 eastern on ESPN.

Kentucky Women Suffer Loss

     Kentucky Women's basketball team suffered a loss to women's powerhouse, UCONN. Kentucky, a 2 seed,  was playing for a trip to the Final Four, a feat never accomplished in Kentucky Women's hoop history. SEC Women's Player of the Year, A'dia Mathies, had 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Samerie Walker, a transfer from UCONN. scored a team high 14 points.

Texas A&M Commitment

     Texas A&M picked up a commitment from Jacksonville, Florida point guard, Shawn Smith. Smith is a 3-star recruit and ranked as the #29 point guard is the class of 2012. He was also considering Jacksonville, LSU, Memphis, Missouri, North Carolina, Oregon, Penn State, and UCF. Texas A&M was the only school that had offered. Smith attends Providence high school and his AAU team is the Florida Rams.

Roderick Johnson

Roderick Johnson of Delray Beach, Florida has verbally committed to the University of Florida. Johnson is a 3-star offensive tackle and ranked as the #35 OT in the class of 2013. Johnson was also considering SMU, South Florida, UCF, and West Virginia. He held offers from all schools.
